| Race Summary |
|---|
SHAKIS (IRE) was taken in hand early, saved ground along the backstretch, moved
out midway on the turn, angled four wide leaving the quarter pole then closed
steadily in the middle of the track to get up in the final strides. WAR MONGER
pressed the pace while well in hand for five furlongs, stalked the leader to the
top of the stretch, made a run to challenge inside the furlong marker, gained a
brief lead in deep stretch and yielded grudgingly. OPERATION RED DAWN raced far
back while saving ground to the turn, swung out in upper stretch and rallied
belatedly. THORN SONG set the pace along the inside to the turn, maintained a
clear lead into midstretch and weakened under pressure in the final eighth.
ELUSIVE FORT (SAF) raced in good position along the rail for seven furlongs,
raced just behind the leaders into upper stretch and finished evenly. PROUDINSKY
(GER) steadied in traffic on the first turn, raced in midpack, lodged a move to
reach contention in upper stretch and flattened out late. DRUM MAJOR steadied
repeatedly along the inside on the first turn and failed to seriously threaten
thereafter. SENSATIONAL HUMOR pressed the pace between horses for five furlongs
and gave way. DISTORTED REALITY raced just off the pace while three wide for six
furlongs and steadily tired thereafter. YATE'S BLACK CAT angled to the inside in
the early stages and never reached contention.
