Race Summary
EINSTEIN (BRZ) closest to the early pace off the rail, went with DUVEEN when that one ranged up outside the leader before a half, dropped back a bit soon after, came again three wide late on the second turn to challenge, drew clear in midstretch and held sway late. OUT OF CONTROL (BRZ) close up while saving ground and patiently handled, angled out a bit approaching the stretch when moving up, drifted in and out in midstretch then was slowly gaining in the closing yards. ARTISTE ROYAL (IRE) reserved off the rail, commenced his rally three wide with three furlongs to go, moved four wide into the stretch and made a good late bid on the outside. YATE'S BLACK CAT unhurried for a half along the inside, advanced near the rail late on the second turn, angled out for room in midstretch and made a late gain. DUVEEN a bit awkward at the start, recovered quickly to be close up, challenged before a half, allowed THORN SONG to open a clear lead soon after, went after that one after five furlongs, gained a short lead between rivals approaching the stretch but tired in the final furlong. THORN SONG sprinted clear, repulsed bids by DUVEEN and EINSTEIN (BRZ) after a half, led the field to midway through the second turn but surrendered readily when challenged approaching the stretch. GOLDEN BALLS (IRE) settled three wide while within striking distance, moved a bit closer four wide on the second turn but gave way in the drive.
